Taoist Qi Gong Master, Mantak Chia guides you through nine simple things you can do to boost one of the most important systems in your body – your immune system.

Master Chia is a world famous medical Qi Gong educator and the creator of the Universal Healing Tao system of natural health. Taoism is not a religion; it is a philosophy.  Tao, translated, means The Way of Nature, or The Way without Force. Qi means energy in Chinese and Gong means work.  Taoist Qi Gong represents natural ways to stay healthy or heal.

Immune System Chi Kung
is part of Master Chia’s Universal Healing Tao practices that help us to activate our body’s natural ability to fight illness. There are many ways to prevent illness, Master Chia suggests the top nine here.

Laugh – Boost your immune system

#1 Laugh

Laughter shakes the body and bones, and thus stimulates the production of the stem cells and red blood cells.  Laughter enhances oxygen intake, stimulates heart and lungs and releases endorphins that ease pain.  It is known to be one of nature’s best immune and circulatory system boosters.

#2 Smile

The Inner Smile meditation taught by Master Chia detoxifies and energizes the internal organs necessary to digest food, clean the blood and eliminate waste. Avoid sickness by smiling to your liver every day while you breath in kindness and breath out anger.  Smile to your kidneys while you breathe in gentleness and breathe out fear. Try it, it is so easy.  If you like it, come visit Master Chia when he teaches this amazing practice or find one of his certified instructors near you.

#3 Eat Real Food

Master Chia challenges you to eat real, unprocessed, organic vegetables, fruits, meats, herbs, natural oils and modest amounts of freshly prepared grain for 30 days.  This natural diet will give your organs and glands the building blocks they need to fight disease and will boost your immune system naturally.

Research Five Element Chinese cooking for some fun recipes.

#4 Move

Mindful physical movement squeezes potentially harmful toxins out of tissues and flushes bacteria out of lungs. Releasing poison and unfriendly bacteria may help prevent ailments like the flu.  Exercise slows down the release of stress hormones. Excessive stress increases the chance of illness and negatively affects your immune system.

#5 Bone Marrow Chi Kung (Qi Gong)

Deepen your Laughter Therapy by focusing your happy laughter on the sacrum and femur bones.  Master Chia says, “When we activate the bone marrow in the sacrum and femur bones, we stimulate the production of the stem cells and healthy red blood.” Smile to your healthy, happy bones every day and give them a boost of laughter vibration as often as possible.  As an extra boost, squeeze the muscles and tendons around these bones for 10 seconds and release completely for 20 seconds.  Perform a set of five once or twice a day for an amazing bone and immune boosting exercise.

#6 Breath

Deep diaphragmatic breathing is one of the simplest and most effective ways of boosting the immune system. It supports the immune system by strengthening T-cell formation and improving lymphocyte production.  Master Chia teaches many types of breathing techniques.

Try something simple like Abdominal Breathing (extend your belly when you inhale) for three minutes twice a day.  Not only will you boost your immune system, but you will give yourself an internal massage your intestines will thank you for.

#7 Jump, Vibrate, Tap

Whole body vibrating (achieved by jumping rope or trampoline), local tapping and gentle hitting with your hands will enhance blood circulation and lymph flow.  Lymph’s are all over your body and produce blood cells that help your body fight infections. There is no lymphaticpump, this precious fluid can only be moved by your movements, massage and deep vibration. Universal Healing Tao website has an excellent selection of “hitters” that send vibration deep in to the body.  So jump, vibrate and tap yourself in to a healthier immune system as often as you like!

#8 Abdominal Massage

It is said that 70% of your immune system resides in your gut. The world headquarters of the immune boosting massage, Chi Nei Tsang, is in Tao Garden Health Spa and Resort in Thailand.  Abdominal lymph contains immune rich cells. There are white blood cells there that have been energized by your intestinal bacteria. Either self massage or receiving from a certified Chi Nei Tsang practitioner could help move these immune boosting cells in to the rest of the body.

Master Chia teaches this and has certified some of the best therapists in the world; there may be one in your neighborhood.
If not, come visit him in Tao Garden during one of his amazing abdominal massage workshops.

#9 Drink Clean, Filtered Water

Drinking clean water helps your blood carry oxygen to your cells.  Without oxygen, we cannot have a strong immune system.

Since your immune system uses lymph to circulate not only white blood cells, but nutrients as well, you need plenty of nutritional building blocks to keep your body strong enough to fight illness. One of many benefits of drinking clean, filtered water is that it keeps your digestion optimized so you can absorb the highest amount of nutrients from your organic, healthy meals.
